Samuel Bagenstos served as the Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights under President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder.  He has spent his career fighting to change unjust practices that violate people's rights. Sam has gone to court to fight for accountability for the Flint Water Crisis, for the rights of women to equal treatment in the workplace, for the rights of people with disabilities to full participation in their community, and for the fundamental right of all Americans to vote.

Join Our Campaign

In recent years, Michigan has been home to some of the most expensive Supreme Court races in the country. Samuel Bagenstos is committed to raising the money he needs to run a competitive race, but the real strength of his campaign will be a mobilized grassroots that understands the need for change and the importance of the Court.

Independent Courts to Defend Your Rights

Courts are the last line of defense for our rights. Samuel Bagenstos has spent his career promoting access to justice for those whose rights are violated. He is committed to defending independent courts that hold people and institutions—no matter how powerful—accountable when they violate the law.
